That wailing on St. Mark's Place in New York City was the sound of NATALIE MERCHANT, who sat in with the WALLFLOWERS at cafe Sin-e. "She really belted it," says frontman Jakob Dylan of the duet on his Sixth Avenue Heartbreak. "I wish I had a tape. She's a friend of the band and is really helpful. She'll definitely give two cents or maybe even three or four cents on a subject. But she doesn't talk down to us."
