Now that they're a national success, the Jamestown-based band 10.000 Maniacs haven't forgotten their old friends. When they passed out gold record plaques in honor of 500,000 sales of their In My Tribe album, they included Marshall Glover, who promoted their early appearances here in Buffalo. Glover's thrilled. "People outside the music business don't usually get these," he beams proudly.
They'll renew acquaintances again next Thursday after the Maniacs play their first show ever in Shea's Buffalo. Most, if not all, of the band will drop by Glover's tavern, Marshall's, 1678 Main St. Music for the occasion will be vintage Maniacs recordings, including tracks from their hard-to-find independent records and live tapes from such occasions as their Secrets of the I Ching record release party and their performance at Glover's 814 Halloween bash a few years back.
